Description This ca. 1960s Roth (?) 3/4 carved back feature very nice quality woods throughout. It has been previously used as an orchestral teaching instrument when students had trouble bringing their own bass for a lesson. The top features even grain spruce with bold grain lines. The ribs, back plate, and neck has bold flame figure. The engraved halfplate tuning machines turn smoothly and evenly. With few repairs, the instrument is well presented. Dimensions are: Top length 42 3/8″, Upper bout width 19″, Middle bout width 14 1/8″, Lower bout width 25 1/8″, Rib depth at tail 8″, Rib depth at upper bout corner 7 5/8″, Rib Depth at neck 6 1/4″, String length 41 3/8″. This bass has a strong, clear orchestral voice. It also doubles as a good jazz instrument. It is currently strung with Thomastik Superflexible strings. With cover.
