  • 1950s German 3/4 hybrid

1950s German 3/4 hybrid

$69.29 $119.18
Description This ca. early 1950s German 3/4 hybrid swellback bass is a wonderful jazz performing instrument. I has seen some repairs, including a light oil varnish refinish. It is healthy, plays well, and is ideal for the performing jazz performer on a budget. The solid spruce top has wider grain at the edges, narrower grain at the center join. The endpin has been replaced with a 10 mm adjustable steel rod. Adjusters have been added to the old, still healthy bridge. The original tuning machines are in fine shape. The dimensions are: Top length 43″, Upper bout width 19 1/4″, Middle bout width 14″, Lower bout width 25 5/8″, Rib depth at tail 7 7/8″, Rib depth at upper bout 7″, Rib depth at neck 6 1/4″, String length 41 1/2″. The bass is currently strung with a set of new D’Addario Zyex strings, for a rich and deep sounding jazz voice. Priced with a cover.
